Making Markets Matter Hits Beverley
IN BEVERLEY the chairman of East Riding Council, Coun Bryan Pearson, was there to officially open the event.
At Beverley Coun Pearson used the occasion to say farewell to Dave Young, who had just retired as market manager. Traders presented Dave with gifts to mark his retirement.
As ever the event drew the crowds, with master chef Geoff Tookey producing his culinary delights for everyone to taste.
At Beverley the event was dogged by the wet summer, but despite a lot of rain in the afternoon traders insisted there has been a bigger footfall than normal.
That was no doubt due in large measure to the wealth of advance publicity our Beverley branch managed to get, including most of the front page of the Beverley Advertiser and regular plugs by the local radio station throughout the day.
