OVER the summer Making Markets Matter has been travelling the county trying to encourage the public to turn away from supermarkets and support their local market.
Since our last update in the last Market Times, the promotion has made stops at Blackburn, Gillingham and Carmarthen, all of which proved to be a great day out for all. Even damp weather at Carmarthen could not ruin the fun.
Our Master Chef Geoff Tookey cooked up some culinary treats, using produce off the market to whip up dishes local to the area. Whilst the voucher vault and market wheel proved a big hit with the younger generations.
As usual Victor the Lion and Eddy the Earth also turned up to lend a helping hand or paw to the festivities.
Making Markets Matter has now ended for this year and the programme for the 2010 events is being finalised. If you would like the event to come to your market in 2011contact us by emailing publicity@nmtf.co.uk or calling 01226 749021.
If you contact us about the 2011 Making Markets Matter events, the federation cannot guarantee at this stage that the promotion will visit your market.
