Making Markets Matter takes over Coventry town centre

A day of entertainment and fun was how the Coventry Times described the event and that it certainly was. The Making Markets Matter team were out in full force turning the town centre and market a vibrant shade of orange. The event was opened by councillor Linda Bigham and encouraged shoppers to forgo their normal shopping haunts and try something new at the market.
The market staff and traders helped make the day a success by inviting clowns, balloons modellers and an exotic animal zoo to the event on top of the usual attractions.
Market Manager Brian Sexton said: “ The day was a great success and people are still talking about it now. It was great to have something going on in the city for markets and it certainly raised the profile of the market within the city.”
